About the Team
The UNC Sugar Bears Dance Team was developed in 1976 as a student-run program to provide a different element into the spirit sector and we are proud to continue our legacy officially under UNC Athletics since 2022.
The mission of the UNC Sugar Bear Dance Team is to support, promote, and represent the University of Northern Colorado through proper promotion of school spirit, pride, tradition, and student involvement while also creating a safe space for our student-athletes to develop skills in leadership, coaching, and professionalism.
UNC offers a
D1 school experience with a "Small" town feel.
Nestled in Greeley's Downtown area, UNC is a perfect choice for any dancer who aspires to continue their dance career while also focusing on their other educational passions.
With many student leadership opportunities, our team members learn to be successful at time management, game day choreography, professionalism, and coaching techniques while on our team. Many of our current team members and alumni have continued in the dance team world, whether coaching, judging, teaching, or choreographing.
The Sugar Bears Dance Team mirrors UNC with tight-knit family vibes and always strives to improve school spirit by collaborating with the Marching Band and Cheer team while keeping up with the latest trends in the dance team world.
